Services

The DWI Process

Immediately upon being charged with Driving While Impaired in North Carolina, you should:

Schedule an Alcohol Assessment with A.R.C. Counseling and Consulting Services, PLLC by calling our office. Appointments can be scheduled during normal business hours. (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday, 8 am to12:00 pm, by appointment only.) It is highly recommended by most attorneys in North Carolina that you have completed an NC DWI Assessment prior to your first court appearance.

Bring these items with you to your assessment appointment:

  • The $100 State mandated DWI Assessment Fee (every provider in the State of North Carolina must charge $100 for each DWI Assessment conducted).
  • Official Record of your North Carolina Motor Vehicle Record (If you have ever been licensed in any other state(s), we may need those records too, so be sure to inform us of this when you call. We will advise you of those State’s fees for driving records).
  • Your citation from your arrest and the printout of what you blew on the breathalyzer.
  • If you have already been to court and convicted, please bring a certified copy of the judgment in your case. This can be obtained from the Clerk of Court. If your judgment has the BAC (Breath Alcohol Content) printed on it, then you can omit bringing the printout from your breathalyzer test.
  • If you have not been to court and you have an attorney, be sure to bring their contact information so we can communicate with them on your behalf.
  • If you have ever been in treatment before, please bring all the information you can regarding the facility you attended, the location, and dates of your attendance.
  • Your assessment will last between 60 and 90 minutes.
  • The results of your assessment will be determined as soon as all required documents have been received and your assessment has been conducted. The sooner you provide us with all the items listed above, the sooner your recommendation can be finalized. We cannot give you a recommendation for the level of treatment you will need until all documents above have been received by our office. We will give you a letter at the time of your assessment verifying an assessment was conducted. You can take this form to the court, your attorney, your probation officer or whoever may require proof of your assessment.

Upon receipt of all required documents, your assessment will be reviewed and a final recommendation will be made. The levels of treatment that may possibly apply to you are as follows:

ADETS = (Alcohol & Drug Education Class)-16-hour Alcohol & Drug Education Class

Short Term Treatment-A minimum of 20 hours of Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment, to be completed in NO LESS THAN 30 days.

Longer Term Treatment-A minimum of 40 hours of Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment, to be completed in NO LESS THAN 60 days.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment-A minimum of 90 hours of Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment, to be completed in NO LESS THAN 90 days. The length of this level of service is to be determined upon intake at the agency for such services.

When we have finalized your assessment results, we will call you to explain the findings. You will also receive a letter in the mail from us notifying you of what is required for reinstatement of your driving privilege. Call A.R.C. Counseling and Consulting Services, PLLC to enroll in your treatment group as soon as possible. We will go over the schedules and fees associated with your treatment.

We will notify the state that you have fulfilled the requirements, upon completion of your recommended treatment program. This may take up to (2) weeks maximum. Upon your case approval by the DMV, you will need to contact them to find out the details on the reinstatement of your driver’s license (for example, how much money you will need for reinstatement and if you will need a hearing, etc.).

Outpatient Therapy

We are committed to providing comprehensive mental health services tailored to meet your needs. Whether you prefer in-person sessions or the convenience of virtual therapy, we offer both options to ensure accessibility and flexibility in your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

We offer Faith based, individual and family therapy.

Faith Based

Faith-based therapy refers to counseling or psychotherapy that involves religious (Christianity) components. This type of counseling is likely to be of interest to people for whom spirituality or religion plays a major role in their lives, and who lean into their faith-based values to help them to make decisions, understand suffering, set priorities, and create purpose and meaning in their lives.

                Religion

Religion refers to an organized and shared set of beliefs, values, and practices that guide an identifiable religious community in its quest to                               deepen its spirituality. The goals of faith-based counseling will be determined by the client in conjunction with their counselor.

Some of these goals might include:

  • Making sense of suffering and challenges in one’s life
  • Learning how to use religious interventions to deepen one’s faith and increase coping skills
  • Finding a purpose or meaning in life
  • Identifying religious values to help to guide life decisions and choices
  • Learning how to forgive others or oneself, and how to ask for forgiveness
  • Connecting or reconnecting with a religious community.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a joint process between a therapist and a person in therapy. Common goals of therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone. Individual therapy is also called therapy, psychotherapy, psychosocial therapy, talk therapy, and counseling.

Therapy can help people overcome obstacles to their well-being. It can increase positive feelings, such as compassion and self-esteem. People in therapy can learn skills for handling difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching goals. Many find they enjoy the therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware. Some people even go to ongoing therapy for self-growth.

Family Therapy
Family therapy is often the quickest and most effective way to decrease conflict, deal with stress, and facilitate positive change in your family. Our therapists are very comfortable and passionate about working with the individual and their family members. Together we will address the way your family’s patterns of communication and behavior are affecting each individual involved in the family system.

 Family therapy is appropriate for:

  • Stress and adjustment issues
  • Trauma/abuse
  • Foster care
  • Adoption
  • Blended families
  • Mental health-related issues
  • Childhood disorders
  • Interpersonal conflict
  • Communication

As advocates for accessible care, we accept a variety of insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Health Care, to name a few. We thrive in making quality therapy more affordable and within reach.

For those without insurance coverage, we offer self-pay options to accommodate diverse financial situations. Additionally, we understand the importance of investing in your well-being, which is why we proudly accept CareCredit for therapy packages, allowing you to prioritize your mental health without financial barriers.
